Corporate learning priorities 2010

Developing the leadership skills of middle managers and equipping them to manage change are among the top learning & development priorities for organisations in 2010, according to a recent survey carried out by Henley Business School. Respondents indicated a significant focus on leadership development in 2010 – particularly at middle management level. They also anticipate focusing on high-potentials as they grow and develop to lead their businesses into an uncertain future.
 

Staff fed up with 'big brother' employers

In a survey of British workers, over a third of British (34%) think their performance has been more closely scrutinised as a result of the recession, with 43% feeling that the consequences of poor performance have become more serious, according to research by Croner.

 

CIPD Employee Outlook

UK workers report plummeting job satisfaction and falling standards of living, despite the recent GDP figures marking an end to the recession. These are among the headline findings from the CIPD’s quarterly Employee Outlook survey (January 2010) of over 2,000 employees.

 

Total reward schemes offer major opportunity for the public sector

Research from Benenden Healthcare Society reveals that 80% of public sector workers have never heard of total reward packages, despite recognition that a holistic approach to health and wellbeing could significantly improve staff retention and increase productivity.

 

Management Agenda 2009

A new research report from Roffey Park  finds only 6% of UK managers believe their organisation can thrive at this time and ride the wave of the global economic crisis.
