New employment law legislation – but not quite yet

Among the raft of Bills which became law just before Parliament was prorogued are two – the Deregulation Act 2015 and the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Act 2015 – some of whose provisions will have significant employment law implications, but not for a while. With the exception of one provision (and even that is only partial), none of the changes have yet come into force (contrary to what was originally stated for a week on the BIS website). They need what are called commencement orders to activate them. The proposed changes are summarised briefly below.
