Overview
- Andrew Young, a solicitor at law firm Seddons, considers what organisations should be doing in response to the Bribery Act 2010 which came into force on 1 July 2011.
- The Act introduces significant changes to the law which could impact the way in which your organisation and individuals connected with your organisation conduct business in the UK and overseas.
- The Act has seen its first conviction - a former magistrates’ court clerk who pleaded guilty to accepting a £500 bribe to get rid of a speeding conviction has been imprisoned for 3 years.
